She is not disabled. A watchman did this to her.
People who saw Oreo hauling herself along the ground assumed she had been born that way. She was not. Oreo is a tiny puppy who was beaten by a watchman, nearly to death, and beaten so badly that she could no longer stand on her own legs.
That is how we picked her up. Collapsed in the dirt, unable to get up, at an age where she had not yet learned that she needed to be afraid of people. This was not a road accident and it was not a fight with another dog. A grown adult chose to do this to a puppy.
Weeks of rest, treatment and steady care later, she walks normally again. She is still a little scared of humans, which is hardly surprising given what one of them did to her, but she is making great progress. She has healed physically and she is gradually healing mentally, and her adoption post goes up on our page soon.
What is left is the bill for getting her here. Every rupee you give goes towards clearing it.
