Adopt, don't shop
A new life. For you and whoever you adopt!
Every dog and cat we rehome was rescued from a difficult start. Give one a soft landing.

Small team. Real numbers.
We'd rather show you what's been done than tell you what we plan to do.
Beyond adoption
The work that keeps the rescue ecosystem moving.
We pioneered standardised foster-based adoption in India. Pets live in foster homes, get socialised, and move directly to their forever family.
We support community dog sterilisation to humanely manage stray populations and educate adopters on the importance of sterilising their pets.
We feed strays in nearby areas, treat injuries, and coordinate vaccinations before release or rehoming.
We check in with adopters after handover and help facilitate rehoming in areas where adoption chances are lower.
iAdopt at a glance
Promising a new life.
iAdopt is a new-age animal welfare organisation that uses careful, foster-based methods to connect rescued indie dogs and cats with people who are ready to be responsible pet parents. We were the first organisation in India to standardise foster-based adoption procedures.
We home and rehome orphaned, abandoned, and homeless cats and dogs from the streets after providing them with private medical care. The transition is easier for both the adopter and the pet.

Adoption should feel serious, supported, and deeply worth it.
We don't throw forms at people and vanish. We guide, ask honest questions, check fit, and stay available after adoption.
Browse our pets on Instagram
Our active adoptable list lives on Instagram (@iadopt.in). Scroll through to see who is currently looking for a home, with photos, age, and a short personality note.
Fill the right application form
Dogs and cats have separate forms. We ask about your home, lifestyle, schedule, and what kind of animal fits you. There are no trick questions — just be honest.
Get shortlisted
If your application looks like a good fit for the animal you've chosen, we'll get in touch. Not every application leads to an adoption, and that's by design — we place for fit, not speed.
Meet the pet
Most meet-and-greets happen at the foster's place so you see the animal in their current environment. We walk you through temperament, medical history, and care needs.
There are a lot of ways to help, even if you can't adopt today.
Foster-based adoption — animals stay in homes, not cages, until they find their people
Community dog sterilisation to keep street populations in check humanely
Street feeding and on-ground treatment for sick or injured animals
Education for adopters on responsible long-term pet care
Rehoming support in areas with lower adoption chances
Collaboration with other rescue groups across Chennai
