About iAdopt
We started because we'd had enough of watching animals struggle.
iAdopt is a non-profit organisation started by a small group of animal lovers in Chennai who had enough of seeing innocent animals struggle for their lives.
We help animals in distress — orphaned, injured, and abandoned — and find them homes that treat them like family.

What we do
Finding forever homes is the core mission.
iAdopt's primary mission is to find forever loving families and homes for animals in need.
We home and rehome orphaned, abandoned, and homeless cats and dogs from the streets after providing them with private medical care, so the transition is easier for both the adopter and the pet.
In addition
- · We work with other adoption groups to scale rehoming activity.
- · We've rehomed 1500+ pups, kittens, and dogs over six years.
- · That includes several blind and deaf kittens and handicapped dogs.
Beyond adoption
A few of the things iAdopt does beyond adoption.
Foster-based adoption
We pioneered standardised foster-based adoption in India. Pets live in foster homes, get socialised, and move directly to their forever family.
Sterilisation drives
We support community dog sterilisation to humanely manage stray populations and educate adopters on the importance of sterilising their pets.
Street feeding & treatment
We feed strays in nearby areas, treat injuries, and coordinate vaccinations before release or rehoming.
Post-adoption follow-up
We check in with adopters after handover and help facilitate rehoming in areas where adoption chances are lower.
What iAdopt gets out of this
Pure joy and happiness. The real reward is seeing an animal get adopted and grow with a family that gives them love and care.
The people behind it
